My 6 years old finally got her 1st dose of Covid19 Vaccine. l Life with ZG l Mommy Blogger PH

Finally, the long wait is over!

Since last year, Zoe kept on asking, when will the vaccine for kids her age will arrive. She's way too excited and looking forward to getting the shot just like us.

She's stuck inside the house for almost half of age, too many missed opportunities outside and, kids just want to world to be back to normal. So we're really happy with the rollout of Covid19 Vaccine for 5-11 years old.

It's been a week since Zoe got her 1st dose. I really opted to wait for a week before sharing this so I can share how's Zoe after getting vaccinated. Zoe got her 1st dose last Friday, it was kinda a smooth one and I was able to get my booster shot too.

Getting the vaccine for 5-11 years old is such a hot topic nowadays. As a parent, we just want to protect our child and your child your rule. But please, if you opted not to have your kids vaccinated, please don't judge us parents who opted to get our child vaccinated. Been seeing lots of negative comments, why is it a big deal only here in the Philippines?

One thing that I noticed was, the vaccination site is not that child-friendly. I mean yes, there are a few decors outside, but when the kids are sitting and waiting to get the shot, it feels a bit scary especially for young kids. No colorful bandaids or even a simple treat like a piece of candy. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Uhm, hello to our LGU. hahah Can you guys keep up? I know madami naman budget, but yeah. I hope they can make the LGU's vaccination sites more child-friendly. Saw lots of gimmicks for other vaccine sites so Zoe was disappointed and almost want to back out upon entering the vaccine site.

Just a heads up if you have younger kids, check out the vaccine site or try getting your vaccine inside the malls if there's a schedule near you. It's child-friendly and less scary for kids.

After getting her vaccine, we just had to buy a happy meal. haha It was Zoe's first time to enter Mcdo once again so she was so happy, she even showed her vaccine card.

A few hours after getting the vaccine, she told me she was feeling cold. I gave her paracetamol. Monitored throughout the night and thankfully she's okay and not feverish or anything. The next day, I asked her if her vaccine site feels heavy but it was not as if she was not vaccinated.

Overall, she's okay and can't wait to get her 2nd dose so she can be fully vaccinated. If you already have a go signal from your pediatrician and if your children want to get vaccinated, please do so for additional protection.
