Mini cooking set toy for kids, full and honest review. l Is it worth the hype? l Life with ZG l Motherhood
Hi parents, I'm finally sharing my thoughts and review about the Mini cooking set for kids. *not sponsored*
I got Zoe this mini cooking set for two weeks now. You can check our unboxing video here.
This mini cooking set is a fun way to introduce one of the life skills in your child. Zoe got involved in the kitchen at young at two years old. Know more about how she started cooking in this post.
What I like about this mini cooking set.
First, let me give you the pros of this mini kitchen set.
Inclusion:
The mini kitchen set comes with a - cooker - frying pan - steamer pot - saucepan - cutting board - knife - whisk - 2 cooking spoons - spatula - apron - 2 condiments - rolling pin.
Everything that your child needs in cooking a meal comes in the set. Oh, and this mini cooking set requires adult supervision, especially if you have young children.
Zoe tried to cook eggs, hotdogs, spam, and the like and so far so good. Of course, it took her longer to cook those since the frying pan that comes in the purple set is quite small. The size is just like my palm. But can cook for at least 2 persons.
She was able to cook soup, adobo and sinigang too. Oh and I'm surprised that the saucepan can hold more than 300 grams of meat that is cut into small pieces. That's a plus point. We haven't tried steaming so we'll try that next time.
Oh, and can you not fell in love with the pastel color? Of course, we had to get the purple one. 💜
So far, we're both loving this mini cooking set and it's worth the price for me. Now let's go to the cons of this mini kitchen set.
What I don't like about this mini cooking set.
Okay, at first I thought our unit has a defect. Because the first time we tried it, we just boiled some water right after cleaning the pots and hey after 20 minutes or so. The cooker got way too hot and also the handles of the pots. So I asked the seller if that's normal and yes sadly that's normal. The unit and the pans are not heat resistant. That's why this mini cooking set should be used under adult supervision and children should be really careful when using it.
Another thing is that you can smell like plastic is burning when you use it for the first time and that's totally normal. The smell will eventually go away when you use the unit often.
Next, this mini cooking set is in Chinese. The buttons are in Chinese as well as the instruction. The seller didn't provide any English translation so you need to figure it out on your own. Though you can check this shop they sell this mini cooking set in the English version. It's just a bit pricey than the one that I got. Also, you'll need an adaptor and the cord is quite short.
I guess that's all my pros and cons for now. But I'll get back at this post maybe after a month and update this.
Verdict
Well, it still depends on you and your child. If you want to teach them how to cook, this might be a fun way to get them to start cooking since the mini cooking set is too cute and looks like a toy, and is functional at the same time. It comes in pink, yellow and green.
Next, for the price of almost 2,200 php. You can just opt to buy the normal induction cooker for your child. Though it won't be as cute as this mini cooking set and might be a bit big for them but it will surely last longer than this cooking set though I am crossing my fingers that this mini cooking set will last long for us.
If you have some money to spare, for me it's a good investment. Especially if you have children 6 years and above. At times Zoe cooks for 5 people already and she's really happy and proud to be able to serve food on the table and make her family happy. That gives her an extra boost of self-confidence. Plus the life skills she's learning as she grows will definitely come in handy in the future.
I hope you find this post helpful and if you do please don't forget to share this post with your family and friends. I'll see you in my next post. Stay safe and healthy!
Love,
Mommy Gen
