I always wonder why do people remain so incredibly uncomfortable with breastfeeding in public? Why does the society still seem so put off by a woman using her breasts for what they were really made for?
I've been breastfeeding for 3 years and 2 months now. We strike anywhere and anytime when Zoe is hungry. I usually don't have a cover since Zoe hates being covered. She keeps on lifting the cover on and off and it's really inconvenient for me. And besides I don't really see anything wrong from feeding my daughter especially in public so I don't get it when people awkwardly stare at me when I feed Zoe. Is it because I don't have a cover, is it because she's 3 already and not yet weaned or is it because majority are uneducated about breastfeeding? Not everyone will agree with my choices and that's absolutely fine. Because I really don't care about other peoples unwanted opinion.
I am writing this post to raise awareness. To be the voice especially for mom's who were judged for breastfeeding in public.
BREASTFEEDING IS NORMAL ANYTIME, ANYWHERE AND IN ANY WAY.
I am here to somehow educate my readers on the fact that breastfeeding is indeed NATURAL and IT IS OKAY. There’s nothing sexual or inappropriate in that act.
If you're uncomfortable to see a breastfeeding mom in public, it's simple as it can be, just look the other way and move on. I mean, you really don't have to watch us breastfeed and look at a mother’s chest anyway. And if you can’t do that, then the next easiest thing to do is for you to make sure you never leave home without a blanket so when you encounter a breastfeeding mom, you can cover your head with it and keep it there til we are done feeding our kids. As long as you always bring your cover, you will never have to worry. This way you don’t have to see anything you're not comfortable of and your problem is solved. Simple right? Now why make a big deal out of a nursing mom in public?
So stop the hate, stop bashing mothers who just want to nurture their children. Stop unmotivating the moms to be from breastfeeding just because there's a stigma that we can't breastfeed in public. Stop making moms feel ashamed. Stop insisting we need to feed our babies inside the bathroom, because that's just gross! Stop the ignorance and be educated instead. Let's empower one another. With each other's help we can make a breastfeeding nation.
If you ever experienced being judged, know that you're not alone. But don't ever think of quitting. You're doing a great job Mom! If you want a Breastfriend, slide into my social media and let's stay connected.

Breastfeeding will never be seen to be NATURAL until we see more mothers breastfeed in public. So if you’re a nursing mom, please breastfeed on. If you’re a mom to be, don't be afraid and choose to breastfeed. If you're not nursing, please show some support rather than bashing. Spread the love instead of negativity in this cruel world.
